This is a CO-ED METal Hike, feel free to bring spouses, friends, conquests, potential conquests and/or the person you wake up next to. All are welcome! Wear light, comfortable clothes and bring a towel, if you sweat a lot. WATER IS MANDATORY!! The hike should take about 90 minutes. This is a friendly Dog Hike!

About the Location:
Sandstone Peak in particular are revered by many as one of the “must-hike” trails in Southern California. At 3,111 feet, Sandstone Peak is the tallest point in the Santa Monica Mountains. The summit can be reached few mile long loop with 1,075 feet of elevation gain that (in addition to bragging rights) offers expansive views of the range. The views from the summit are breathtaking and far-reaching on a clear day. Mount Baldy in the San Gabriel Mountains to the east, Los Padres National Forest to the north, the Pacific Ocean to the south, and the Channel Islands (Anacapa, Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa, San Miguel, and Santa Barbara) to the west.
Take PCH to the far west end of Malibu. Make a right on Yerba Buena Road (just past Neptune’s Net Restaurant) and drive up Yerba Buena for 5.5 miles to the Circle X Ranch Ranger Station. Continue past the ranger station up Yerba Buena Road another mile and turn left into the Sandstone Peak trailhead parking lot. There is a bathroom at the trailhead and the Circle X Ranch Ranger Station.
