The repressive force steadily illegalized. LSD in 1967, MDMA in 1985.
There was a golden period of empathogenic psychotherapy in the early to mid-80s when MDMA (E, Adam, Molly) was erroneously and illegally put into Schedule I by the DEA, engendering the flood that ensued of 10s of millions or users and 100s of millions of experiences. In that time, I and a loose network of psychotherapists found and cultivated a revolutionary approach to psychotherapy.
The 50-minute hour blew open to the 5-8 hour session. Fabulous work with couples ensued. Opening the heart to oneself and the others around, generating compassion and understanding, working with personal and cultural trauma, freeing from obsessions and depressions rapidly and definitively without being in a constant Pharma bath, these were the essences.
At this week’s METal Dr. Philip Wolfson will discuss this fragile period of legalization, spurred on by the mass movement for marijuana decriminalization. Limited research with psilocybin and MDMA has accelerated moving to the possibility of MD prescription sometime in 2021 or 2022.
Dr. Philip Wolfson is a Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy, or KAP, we are filling out an organizational structure that includes: The Ketamine Research Foundation—a non-profit; The Ketamine Training Center that provides uniquely 4-day experiential sessions to practitioners so that they both learn the psychotherapy and experience the power of the medicine itself; The Center for Transformational Psychotherapy and its Associates group–that is developing nuclei of KAP practitioners throughout the US and looking to become International.Join Report
